I'm in Love With the Music Nerd Girl

Some of my co-workers ( and myself, I confess ) refer to people as a _________ nerd ( fill in the blank based upon what they are good at ). For example, if someone is really good at math, we would call them a "math nerd", with no malicious intent. I had been referred to as a "music nerd" on more than one ocassion because I could remember song titles, band names, etc.

One day I was in the record store and saw a girl there that some of the guys had mentioned as being pretty. I thought to myself "I bet they wouldn't call her a music nerd" and the idea for the song was born. I kept running it through my head and between the time I got on my motorcycle in the parking lot until I got to my driveway, I had the entire song written. I wish they all came that easily!
